Server Virtualization -- Creating a virtual instead of a phyisical server. Multiple virtual servers are hosted on a single physical server, taking advantage of cutting edge technology and power offered by new hardware, further reducing the number of physical servers required. VMs (virtual machines) are a great way to support legacy applications that do not function correctly on updated server operating systems.

Cloud Computing -- Hosting applications and data on Inter- or intranets, providing access for many users in remote locations. Typically accessed through a web browser. Microsoft's Office Live and Google Docs are common examples. Users can create, open, save, print or share office files like word processing documents, spread sheets, presentations etc.

Off-site Backups -- Storage of business critical data at a commercial off-site location. Data is backed-up locally on a separate device and durring off-peak hours that data is transfered to a data storage facility over a secure Internet connection. Carbonite and Mozy offer very low cost options for home and home/office users.
